How to Apply

Hartford Art School applicants must apply through the University of Hartford Office of Admission and Student Financial Assistance.

Apply online at http://admission.hartford.edu/shapp/secure.htm.

Admission to the BFA program at the Hartford Art School is based on a variety of criteria, with all factors in the applicant’s background considered. Applicants must demonstrate:

  1. Proficiency in the visual arts, through a portfolio
  2. Academic achievement, as shown on official transcripts from accredited high schools and colleges
  3. SAT or ACT scores

Application materials and instructions are included on the University of Hartford website, hartford.edu. Please call the Hartford Art School Office of Admission for further assistance, 860.768.4393.

Ideally, all application materials, including recommendations, transcripts, portfolio reviews, and SAT/ACT scores should be forwarded to the University of Hartford no later than February 15th for optimum consideration. However, we have a rolling admission policy and there are no official deadlines. PLEASE NOTE: For those intending to apply for financial aid, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed by February 1st, regardless of application filing or status.
