Auerbach Lecture Series: Mary Heilmann

Guest artist Mary Heilmann will present a lecture as part of the Hartford Art School’s Auerbach Lecture Series, which is free and open to the public.

Mary Heilmann was born in San Francisco in 1940 and received a BA from the University of California in Santa Barbara, and an MA from the University of California, Berkeley.  Heilmann lives and works in Bridgehampton, New York.  Her works are included in the permanent collections of many museums worldwide, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, San Francisco MoMA, and the Guggenheim Museum.  She is represented by 303 Gallery, New York, and Hauser & Wirth London, where her one-person show, “Mary Heilmann:  Visions, Waves and Roads,” is currently installed until April 5th.

In honor of her accomplishments, she will be awarded an honorary doctorate of fine arts from the University of Hartford, just prior to her lecture.
