Where are you from?
New Jersey
Why the Hartford Art School?
For me Hartford Art School was the perfect combination of a big university with small university pluses. Since the art school is independent from the actual university, you still have small intimate classes and one-on-one staffing, without loosing any of the big-university experience.
Do you like bunnies?
Cute and fluffy ones.
What do you think of your major’s program?
My major is Illustration and I love it. I love the way the classes are set up, the type of work we get, everything. The teachers in the program are amazing people and artists. They teach you all the right things to help you succeed not only in your art work but in your life.
Did your high school art program prepare you for college?
Yes, I had very involved classes and great teachers in high school. I was invited into AP portfolio class, where I was able to turn in a portfolio to get viewed by people outside of the art school. I also had an independent study with my favorite art teacher, which helped me to focus more and spend more time on my art work.
What type of dinosaur would you like to be and why?
A Brontosaurus, because they don’t kill other animals and they are tall. They just seem like nice dinosaurs.
Is there anything to do around here?
There is plenty to do, the key is finding the right people to do things with that makes everything worth while.
Something Kim may not tell you: Her sophomore portfolio in Illustration earned the highest score in their departmental reviews and she is minoring in design.
