Many of you have seen us in your classrooms, at events here on our campus or at a portfolio review day in your area. Our admission team is comprised of two co-coordinators, Brittny Badger and Alice Smith, and myself, Assistant Dean and Director of the admission program, Robert Calafiore.
Between the end of September and the middle of December each year, we visit nearly 200 high schools and community colleges on the east coast from Portland, Maine to Miami, Florida. Our objective is to reach those students in your studio courses who are preparing themselves for an art college experience. The presentation we have designed is geared towards providing prospective students with a general and basic understanding of what it means to be an artist, practice art making, and the requirements for admission to art school.
In this new section "For Teachers" you will find several ways of interacting and engaging with us that bring us to you and you to us. Please take a look and let the Hartford Art School help you further provide opportunities and exposure to your students regarding preparing for art school and being an artist.
