Mark Snyder is principal of object|resonance, a Hartford-based design studio working exclusively with non- and not-for-profit organizations in the fine &performing arts and educational markets. The bulk of the studio’s work centers around materials to promote presenting organizations including invitations, advertising, exhibition graphics, and catalogue design. In the educational market, we deign materials to support admissions efforts and development initiatives. Clients include: Hartford Stage, The Wadsworth Atheneum, The Painting Center, Trinity College, University of Hartford, The Museum of American Political Life, The Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies, The Joseloff Gallery, The Hartt School of Music, The Roberts Foundation, Columbia Teachers College and The Maxwell Shepherd Foundation. Prior to moving to Hartford, Snyder spent two years in Providence Rhode Island where he earned an MFA in graphic design from the Rhode Island School of Design. Before graduate school, Mark served as a Creative Director for six years for Shaw Industries, Inc., a Fortune 500 corporation and the world’s largest producer of textiles. At Shaw he managed the corporate brand as well as furthered the name recognition of the company’s three commercial flooring divisions including the creation of the identity for the Networx division, which produced modular floor-covering solutions. For two years before this assignment, Snyder served in the research and development division of Shaw as a textile designer, where he created custom patterns for printed broadloom carpet, and created designs for area rugs, and printed/woven commercial flooring products. Snyder has won international, national, and regional recognition for his work and the work of his studio. He has served on the boards of AIGA Boston, and The Connecticut Art Directors Club, where he currently holds the office of President.
